Usually my first choice to bring audio into the ATEM Mini Pro, is to bring the audio into Camera 1, with a shotgun microphone, or with a audio from a sound board, so that the program audio is embedded in the video signal. Sometimes it is more practical to bring the audio into the ATEM Mini series two audio inputs on the back panel.

Open the ATEM Software Control app to find the Audio Settings, in preparation for this. Use the Fairlight audio control interface for more audio control. Here are some of the ways to use those audio ports.

ATEM Mini Pro Mic Input 1 Options

– To plug two XLR microphones in to the ATEM, use a Dual XLR Audio to 1/8 inch Mini Stereo Cable. Plug into Mic Input 2. Go to the ATEM Software Control Audio – make sure this on Mic input.

– If you plug a lavalier mic in the Mic Input 1 port, open the ATEM Software Control Audio Settings  and make sure this is set as Mic input.

– Run an 1/8th inch stereo mini cable there to to stereo mini from your computer headphone jack. Open the ATEM Software Control Audio Settings – make sure this is set as Line input.

ATEM Mini Pro Mic Input 2 Options

– Use an audio mixer – I use an Behringer 8 channel audio mixer with output to one to the cable connectors above that I recommended with those adapters. You can use your Zoom H8 or a soundboard mix XLR input.

– Use a Zoom series audio recorder, and take the audio output with 1/8th inch stereo mini cable to stereo mini – plug into Mic 2 port.  Use ATEM Software Control to assign as Line input. I use the Zoom H5, and sometimes add the XLR capsule to have a total of four XLR inputs.

Depending on which gender XLR cable you need, use one of these splitters to the Mic input on the ATEM Mini Pro… Get both if you are not sure of the cables that you will patch in…
